How to create printing data the right way

Our programs

*Please store datas as an „ai-file“ (Adobe Illustrator) because we use Apple Macintosh.

!Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) do not generate printable data and are thus not intended for reproduction in the pre-press stage!

Creating printing copies the right way

• Make sure you supply us with print data 1:1. Substantial additional costs may be incurred if films are supplied.
• We would therefore ask you to send us only „open“ files. We do not process PDF files. Any faults would only be visible on the printed product which could mean additional expenses and longer delivery times.
• Line drawings should have an optimum resolution of 1.200 dpi or should be vectorised; continous-tone illustrations should have a resolution of 300 dpi.
• If data are sent by e-mail, please add the appropriate program extension (e.g. .qxd for QuarkXPress, .fh for FreeHand, .cdr for CorelDraw). • All files and data must be supplied on disks to facilitate processing. So please add the original basic file to any eps files.
• Please make sure you also save imported files (e.g. tiff, eps, bmp or jpg files), should there be any included in your document.
• Due to technical reasons please use Pantone colours or CMYK (independent from your printing colours).

Note:

Halftone motifs only after printability check. We require a proof of the colours provided for multicoloured halftone motifs.

! Fonts !

Please change the font characters into paths (basically for PC). If you send us the fonts too (only Macintosh fonts), please store the complete font files as zip/sit. Loading of external fonts is not possible.

Data storage media

• Please write your address, file name, logo and product on any data storage media you use (MAC-formated CDs) and send us a printout of the files.
• The printout should be marked with the file name and the name of the printing colours (HKS, Pantone).
• A binding colour sample is required for motifs based on the 4-c process.

Extra costs

• if the data doesn‘t fulfill our printing gutdelines (e.g. no „open“ Data).
• if the delivered data is not printable (e.g. separate logos, motifs and text.
• if you don‘t supply us with print data 1:1. if films are supplied.
• if data ist supplied more than one time (e.g. correction of data).

! Important !

• To check the content, we always require a print-ready PDF.
• The customer is always responsible for proofreading and editing.
• We cannot accept any responsibility for the product in the case of incorrect data.
